- Each item is rated on a 4-point scale (range: 0-3).
- In screening uses, a total score of 8 or higher is the cutoff for clinically significant depression.
Total score Levels of Depression
- 01 - 05 These ups and downs are considered normal
- 06 - 16 Mild to moderate depression
- 17 - 31 Moderate to severe depression
- 31 - 48 Severe depression
